Terroir

One of the few spirits on earth with a Denomination of Origin. Where it's from matters.

A Spirit of Place

Tequila is more than a drink—it's a geography. By law, it can only be made from agave grown in five specific Mexican states. This isn't branding. It's a globally protected Denomination of Origin, enforced by the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT).

“Olujo honors this designation not out of obligation, but conviction.
Terroir isn't tradition. It's code.”

Varied elevations create diverse growing environments.

Coastal influence creates unique growing conditions for blue agave.

Jailisco

The heart of tequila production, known for its red volcanic soil and high altitude.

Tamaulipas

Northeastern region with unique climate conditions.

The Soil. The Sky. The Signature.

The earth runs deep with iron. Days burn hot. Nights cool fast. It’s this contrast that defines character.

Our agave matures slowly at high altitude—over 6,000 feet. With limited light, sparse minerals, and rugged terrain, nature shapes every detail. That refinement is what makes it count.

Depth from Nature. Purity through Time. Precision by Hand.

In high-altitude fields, sugars densify. Aromatics deepen. Over 6–8 years, complexity emerges—ready for our finishing touch.

Certified and Controlled

This is one of the most rigorously protected spirits in the world. And for good reason. We don’t hide from that standard. We embrace it—then exceed it. OLUJO tequila is CRT certified and regulated at every stage.

Agave Origin

Every bottle of Olujo begins with 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the certified tequila-producing regions of Mexico, primarily in the highlands of Jalisco. The CRT (Consejo Regulador del Tequila) verifies that all agave used meets strict geographic and botanical standards. This ensures the authenticity, traceability, and terroir-driven complexity that define real tequila. Olujo’s agave isn’t just sourced—it’s documented, inspected, and protected.

Sugar Content

The CRT mandates that no less than 51% of the fermentable sugars in tequila come from agave—Olujo goes further, using 100% agave sugars with zero additives or sweeteners. Every batch is tested and certified to meet purity standards, protecting against dilution or enrichment tactics used in lower-quality spirits. This sugar integrity translates to a cleaner, richer spirit in every pour.

Bottling location

All Olujo tequila is bottled in Mexico at a CRT-certified facility, which is a legal requirement for authentic tequila. This ensures full chain-of-custody transparency and prevents post-distillation tampering. The CRT monitors labeling, batch numbers, and shipping procedures—guaranteeing that what’s in the bottle meets the same uncompromising standards as what left the still.
